Staffordshire Police force
"Box Clever has made a huge difference to the children who take part in this activity. Wayne runs a superb session for the children and he is able
to teach the skills and attributes of boxing to children and make the activities exciting, fun and with an element of competition. He is a remarkable
role model for all the children they respect him, but also love how he talks and motivates each individual. The self discipline he has instilled in many of them
has spilled over into other parts of their lives. Parents have been amazed at the improved positive behaviour of theri children at home.
Wayne works very well with the school and we look forward to a long and productive partnership with him. Boxing is the most successful activity we have ever run!

The young person is then assessed on need and interest. The young person is supported by a Key Worker and boxing coach Wayne at every session. The young person is also encouraged to participate in other sessions or to join an approved local Amateur Boxing Club.
The child has now attended 32 boxing sessions with former world middleweight champion Wayne Elcock and made amazing progress. He now trains with Wayne at least one other evening a week and his mum and young brother have taken up boxing training also taking part in the Box Clever private classes, and all have encouraged one another.
His new found confidence and self-belief have helped him to become more settled at school where he has successfully made the year 8 football team which includes 1 match and 2 training sessions each week after school. He has recently spent a week in Spain on an exchange visit, this was his first time away from home and abroad.
He has also become a great support to the session staff as part of the boxing programme and often encourages his peers to listen and stay on task. And has really matured over the past few months and is now beginning to recognise his strengths and talents.
He has developed the confidence to make his own decisions even when his peers sometimes decide to hang around with groups that cause problems in the local community. And has used sport as a really positive focus over the past 5 months.
He also recently discussed with his mum that he might like to become a police officer when he leaves school.
said "she believes that much of his improved engagement at school is down to the influence of Wayne. She says that he understands that Wayne is teaching him boxing skills and in-turn he is more appreciative and respectful of his traditional teachers at school."
Alot more respectful to others and a significant change in his level of confidence.
